Q - Aren't all storage facilities basically the same?
A - Not all storage facilities are created equal! Guardian Storage employs a full-time maintenance
manager who keeps our facility in tip-top condition. We have a complete year round pest control program.
Every unit is thoroughly cleaned and serviced before a move in. We do our own snow removal. We were
recently awarded the 2006 Oscar for "Best Place to Store your Stuff" by BizX Magazine. See the
story here. We encourage shoppers to check out the other storage
places to see why 41% of Guardian's new rentals are referrals and returning customers!

Q - What do I need to do to rent a unit?
A - Visit us and we can take you on a tour of our facility and our different sized models.
After we determine your needs, all we need is the first month's rent, a valid driver's license
for identification, and a credit card or a void cheque. You can use your own lock if you have one,
or print out a coupon for a free lock here.
Our office hours are 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday.

Q - Do I need climate controlled storage for my electronics?
A - Climate controlled storage is very expensive. We have found that most average household goods
do not require it. Heat and cold will not affect your TV, computer or other electronic devices.
We have computer and furniture companies that currently store their goods here all year round
in regular unheated units with great success.

Q - Which is better: cement or steel constructed storage units?
A - Our experience has been that cement block units have a tendency to hold the moisture and eventually
cause a musty smell in the unit. Our units are high grade steel with a smooth cement floor with a vapour
barrier in it. The ceilings are thoroughly insulated and vented.
|
Q - Is it important to allow space for air circulation when I pack my unit?
A - For long-term storage we have found that circulation is more crucial than temperature fluctuation.
Our ceilings are fully insulated and vented. We provide clean wooden pallets free of charge. It is also
recommended that you not "tight pack" your unit but allow a head space for added circulation.

Q - What about insurance on my stored property?
A - Guardian Storage does not as a rule insure stored property. We recommend that you contact your
insurance company continue your homeowner's or renter's insurance as long as you have property stored.
If you do not have insurance we will put you in touch with an insurance company that does small short-term
policies for our customers.

Q - Do I have to be locked into a contract to store my things?
A - We only require a minimum of one month. Our agreement is open-ended meaning you can move out whenever
you are no longer in need of storage. We will also pro-rate your rent up to 14 days past your rent due
date.
